Dave’s Teaching Days – Tuesdays
Since picking up a pair of drum sticks at age 14, David has been playing drums in various musical outfits professionally since 2001. David spent a year at the conservatorium of music in Hobart, Tasmania, where he formed the band Eugesta, resulting in their debut album, “Cloud Cover”.
Yearning for a wider artistic scene, David moved to Melbourne in 2001 to begin a three year acting course at the National theatre drama school, graduating in 2003. Post graduation, David focused on combining his two main passions, music and acting, into a cohesive career. He has played on various albums, and singles, the most recent project being the debut album “Satellite” for Melbourne six piece rock, funk and soul outfit, “The Harlots”.
The Harlots have toured Australia extensively, frequenting NSW, QLD, SA, to as far as Darwin for the annual Darwin Festival. The Harlots have been a consistent part of the Victorian music scene for five years, including many repeat gigs at venues such as: Cherry Bar, Ding Dong lounge, The Espy, The Hills Are Alive Festival and The Corner Hotel to name a few. David has also lived in the UK for 2 years and was the drummer for London outfit, Dusty Muzzle, playing at various venues across the UK.
Being a very physical performer, David adheres to the philosophy, ‘healthy body, healthy mind’. A self confessed exercise addict, David brings his years of experience of live playing and studio recording to his drum lessons, and combines his beliefs on physical exercise with the technique of playing drums.
