Jam Studio Music Christmas Gift Voucher

Jam Studio Music, Christmas Gift Voucher Deal

Hey Jam Studio,

It’s Marty! Yes, I am back from Ireland. No, I did not bring any Leprechauns, but I got something better!

One night in Dublin, I was at my mate, Eamon’s place for a small get-together. After a lovely dinner, Eamon decided to pull out his Guitar and sing a few songs – we were all having a lot of fun. Just then, Eamon’s 10 year old son, Kev got a little excited and asked his dad if he could learn how to play Guitars. At first, Eamon said, “sure son”, but the next day, Eamon realised that it would cost way too much to buy a new Guitar and a bunch of music lessons to just to get Kev started. When I heard about this, I offered Eamon a deal, which worked out perfectly for Kev’s early Christmas present – I offered my guitar along with half price lessons to get Kev started. Surely, this not only saved Eamon time and money, but also made him happy to see little Kev learning an instrument. Little did we know that Kev was a natural, as he learnt his first 2 chords within 1 week. Last week, I got an email from Eamon saying that he bought Kev a Guitar from the Op Shop and booked him into a few more Guitar lessons just up the road from their home. Teaching little Kev was great fun, and made me feel at home, just like at Jam Studio Stoodioh!

That was my first experience of teaching music in Ireland, and I realised that Music Lessons are a great present for anyone, for there is nothing better than giving loved ones the gift of learning. Now that I am back, I thought that perhaps its time to give all our Jam Studio a little sweetener to help save money this festive season. Drum Kit Basics 1.0

Whether it’s your first instrument or your fiftieth, you will be playing a basic rock beat in no time with these few easy steps!

Before you start, familiarise yourself with the different parts of the drum kit.

The easiest thing about learning the drums is that you don’t have to worry about any melodic pitch (the highs and lows of notes). However, each drum/cymbal still has a spot on the musical staff.

All you have to do is read vertically as you move along the bar! If there are two notes directly on top of each other, you play these at the same time.
Give these basic 4/4 bars a go, playing your hi-hat with your right hand, your snare drum with you left hand and bass drum with your right foot.

Now its time for the big guns, an 8th beat drum groove. It looks a lot scarier but it’s just like the 3rd example above only double the amount!

And that my friends, is the most common drum beat in any 4/4 time signature music. Chances are you can tap this beat along to your favourite rock or pop song.
Happy drumming!
