Guitar & Violin Lessons

Liam Baillie is a violinist, guitarist, and composer currently based in Melbourne but hailing from the Northern Rivers.

Liam was lucky enough to be carted along to various folk festivals and gigs since he was 3 years old, subsequently picking up the violin when he was 9 years old and inspired by all the incredible Celtic fiddle players he grew up watching and listening to. Liam has dipped his toes in classical and jazz violin, having completed up to AMEB 6, however his main specialty and passion lies in teaching folk music from Celtic, Appalachian, Bulgarian, and Swedish traditions.

Currently Liam plays in several bands (6 at his last count), including his own project Baillie’s Bazaar for Unwanted Oddities, and is on the tail end of his Bachelor of Composition and Music Technology at Monash University. He is also diagnosed with ASD and has a particular passion for teaching neurodivergent folks who require less traditional approaches and more out-the-box thinking to make learning a sustainable and enjoyable experience.

He believes that music is a wide world and can be an endless source of inspiration, and it is his job to find what excites each student and allows them to have a long-lasting
relationship with music, in any form.
